Observer: What it is and how it works

This article explains the Observer role on the Eligo voting platform, how it works, and what can be done with this profile.

The Observer role can be assigned to committee members, organizers, or otherwise people who can access the platform from the backoffice and check the data.
Specifically, this profile allows to:
  1. View voting data;
  2. Monitor turnouts during voting;
  3. Download final reports;
  4. Regenerate credentials.
To add an observer, the administrator must select "System Users" from the upper left bar; the list of users entered in the platform with their search bars will open. Click on top right  to add a new user:

A window will open with the data to be filled in. To associate the user with the observer role, select the corresponding item from the "Role" drop-down menu:

The area administrator can also choose to make all events visible to an observer or only one, so that they can differentiate the information that a specific observer can access:
 After datas are saved, the observer will receive an email with credentials to access the platform:

Before opening the vote, you will be able to view the data and configurations by clicking on related to the section you want to check:

When ballots are open, counters will appear allowing the observer to monitor turnouts:

When the ballots are closed, the observer can view and download the final reports

NOTE: The Observer can review the data but cannot edit it, send credentials, or open/close and suspend voting.
