Automatic opening of voting: how it works

The automatic opening of voting allows the system to open and close the vote at the date and time configured in the system.

To ensure this happens correctly, certain requirements must be properly met.

1. Verification of the voting module activation in the license

Automatic opening of voting is only possible if the corresponding module is active in the license in use.

If the module is not active, it is not possible to correctly schedule the automatic opening, and the date and time configuration screen will appear limited, as shown in the screenshot below.

If the module is disabled, it is necessary to contact your sales representative to request activation.

2. Verification of the automatic opening and closing toggle activation

Even when the module is active, automatic opening will only occur if the automatic opening toggle is enabled at the time the start and end times are configured.

Please note that:

• the toggle can only be modified until the credentials are sent;

• after the credentials have been sent, it is no longer possible to modify the schedule or the opening settings.

3. Verification that credentials have been sent to voters

The voting system cannot open automatically if credentials have not been previously sent to voters.

Sending credentials is an essential step because it validates the electoral event and enables voters to access the system.

Without this step, the voting event remains unvalidated and cannot be opened automatically.

When automatic opening and closing are configured, the system sends a notification email at the scheduled time to confirm that the voting has been opened or closed.

If the event is opened or closed manually before the scheduled time, the system will still send an email at the originally configured time containing a notification of failed automatic opening or closing.
